Module 5: Saat Nishchay 2 - Swachh Gaon Samriddh Gaon (Box 5.7.1)
Following the successful completion of Saat Nishchay-1, the State Government launched Saat Nishchay-2 (2020–25), whose fourth resolution is 'Swachh Gaon Samriddh Gaon' (Clean Village, Prosperous Village).
Three Core Components of the Program:
- Installation of Solar Street Lights:
Solar street lights will be installed in every village across all wards, accompanied by strict contractual provisions for continuous operation and regular maintenance.
- Solid and Liquid Waste Management:
Institutionalizing scientific waste management systems at the ward and panchayat levels. Activities include regular desilting and cleaning of sewers and streets, door-to-door collection and scientific disposal of solid waste using modern processing technologies, and biological/chemical wastewater treatment to prevent pollution of rural water bodies. Public assets built under previous schemes (toilets, paved by-lanes, and drains) are maintained continuously.
- Development of Animal and Fishery Resources:
Promoting modern technology for milk production, processing, and cold-chain marketing. Fostering poultry and pisciculture by developing existing rural water bodies, rejuvenating village ponds (pokhars/ahars), and providing progressive fish farmers with training and high-yielding fingerlings to boost productivity.
